Job Summary
Supervises patient care support staff providing interdisciplinary basic patient-care activities, such as medical assistants in addition to non-clinical staff (i.e. PC2). Assists in ensuring the quality of patient care delivery in assigned clinic(s) and serves as a role model. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $73,500 - $110,300 (Annual Rate).

A range specialty services is provided, which include preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic care. Bayfront is home to multiple specialties and services in the 3rd and 4th floor clinic spaces.

Patient needs vary from low to high complexity, depending on presenting signs and symptoms. Any patient presenting with an emergency medical condition is screened by a physician and provided with stabilizing treatment until the patient can be safely transported to the Emergency Department. The use of anesthesia, for other than local infiltrations, is prohibited. Patients may receive IV therapy in an emergency situation while awaiting transport to the hospital.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience as an MA in Urology or OHNS
  • Demonstrated skills to effectively supervise patient care support staff. Strong knowledge of practice operations.
  • In depth knowledge of patient support care clinical standards and care delivery, systems, external regulations, and internal policies.
  • In depth knowledge of front office/practice coordinator duties and ability to perform these duties as needed for coverage.
  • Working knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and apply effective solutions.
  • Solid interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and problem solving with all levels of management and staff.
  • Skills in written and verbal communications, with the ability to convey clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in clinic / center patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • CPT-1
  • Licensure in relevant patient care support discipline.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent combination of 3 years work experience / training.
License/Certification
  • BLS
